FAQ
The questions buyers actually ask us
Minimum quantities, lead times, tooling costs, compliance paperwork and shipping. If your question is not here, email us — we answer enquiries within an hour on working days.
Ordering
What is your minimum order quantity?
200 to 500 pieces for candle tins and matcha tins, which is deliberately low so you can test a design before committing. Custom-printed boxes start at 500 to 3,000 pieces depending on the structure.
Stock sizes can go out in smaller quantities straight from inventory. If you are trialling a product, ask about a sample order followed by a staged first production run.
How long does an order take?
A fully custom tin runs about 30 to 35 days end to end: 2 days for design confirmation, 1 day for a 3D proof, 3 to 5 days for tooling, 3 days for a physical sample, 3 days for first-article approval, then 15 to 20 days of production.
Standard orders on existing tooling ship in 25 to 30 days. Rush production is possible at 15 to 20 days. For Q4 Christmas and pre-Ramadan demand, place orders about 45 days earlier than you normally would.
Do you charge for samples and tooling?
Yes, and both are credited back. Sample charges are refunded in full against the bulk order, and mould costs are offset against production volume.
A 3D digital proof comes back within a day at no charge, so you can check the shape and print layout before paying for anything physical.
What payment terms do you accept?
L/C, D/A, D/P, T/T, Western Union, MoneyGram and open account. Terms depend on order value and how long we have worked together — tell us what your finance team needs and we will work with it.
Design & production
I do not have print-ready artwork. Can you help?
Yes. Our design team will work from your brand guidelines and return up to three initial layout concepts, normally within 48 hours of the brief.
They handle Pantone layout, compliance mark placement such as FDA and SGS seals, and product visuals for your own listings.
Can you make a shape that does not exist yet?
Yes. Tooling is cut on our own CNC machining centre and takes 3 to 5 days, designed in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
We work from φ30×10mm up to 600×400×300mm. Where a precise fill volume matters — candles and cosmetics especially — we hold capacity to within 1%.
How close will production colour be to my proof?
We match to Pantone under a D65 standard light box. Digital proofs are held to ΔE 2.0 or better, and mass production to ΔE 3.0 or better.
For brand customers with zero colour tolerance we archive an approved colour swatch and check every run against it.
Can you supply the insert as well as the tin?
Yes — EVA, foam, flocked, moulded paper and plastic inserts, plus built-in sifters for matcha canisters. Three dedicated lining partners keep these on schedule.
We also assemble complete gift sets: tin plus printed outer carton, ribbon or cork stopper.
Quality & compliance
Are your tins safe for direct food contact?
Yes. Interior coatings are food grade and 100% BPA-free, applied on our own coating line. We hold FDA 21 CFR reports for the US market and LFGB reports issued by SGS for Germany and the wider EU.
Food-contact batches go to SGS for overall migration, heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury), BPA content and coating adhesion. Reports can travel with the shipment.
What tinplate do you use, and can you prove it?
0.17 to 0.35mm grade-one plate from Baosteel and Shougang, with mill certificates available for every batch. Imported plate is available where a project calls for it.
Incoming plate is 100% inspected for thickness to ±0.01mm, hardness in the T2 to T4 range, and surface condition. Any oil, rust or oxidation and the whole batch goes back.
How do you inspect before shipping?
Every unit is checked at outgoing inspection for lid tension, seal integrity, print colour, surface scratches, dents, edge burrs and, where fitted, child-resistant closure function.
Quality control runs in three stages — incoming material, in-process and outgoing — with records kept for traceability. Dents, scratches and colour deviation are held under 0.3%.
Will the tins survive the voyage?
We run a 1-metre free-fall drop test onto concrete on all six faces; the criterion is no structural deformation and no print loss. Stacking tests are added for heavily loaded containers.
Packing is one PE bag per tin, double corrugated dividers, and a five-ply AA outer carton. Arrival damage claims run below 1%.
Which certifications do you hold?
ISO 9001 valid to December 2027, covering design through dispatch. The plant has passed an on-site audit by TÜV Rheinland Germany. We also hold FDA 21 CFR and LFGB food-contact reports, SGS test reports, and RoHS and REACH SVHC declarations.
Shipping & after-sales
How long is the sailing time to my market?
Out of Shekou or Yantian: US West Coast 12 to 15 days, US East Coast 30 to 35, the UK 25 to 30, Saudi Arabia and the UAE 15 to 20, Australia 18 to 22.
DDP door-to-door is available to the US, UK, Australia and the main Middle East destinations, including inland delivery.
How many tins fit in a container?
A 40HQ holds roughly 80,000 to 120,000 candle or matcha tins depending on the size. We provide CAD loading diagrams with the quotation so you can calculate landed cost properly.
Do you work with Amazon sellers?
Yes. We support split FBA deliveries in two or three batches and apply FNSKU labelling at the plant, so your cartons are warehouse-ready on arrival.
Can you hold my goods before shipping?
Yes, and there is no storage charge. Finished tins can stay in our warehouse while you consolidate several orders into one container, wait for a better freight rate, or release stock to your market in stages.
Let us know the intended holding period when you place the order and we confirm it in writing with the order acknowledgement.
What happens if goods arrive damaged or off-spec?
Send photographs and a damage report within three days. We confirm within 24 hours and either refund the full value of the affected goods or remake them.
Batch quality issues are resolved by replacement or return by agreement. Our historical return rate is under 0.5%.
How do US steel tariffs affect my price?
We quote on an FOB basis with duties billed as actually incurred, so you are never paying a padded estimate. For US buyers affected by Section 232 steel and aluminium tariffs we can discuss how the cost is shared.
